Logic of a Diet Coke can

Today whilst on my break, I was bored so I started reading my Diet Coke can. I was reading all the nutritional values on the reverse and on the side. Then I noticed that on the back it said that the Kcal (calories) in 100ml of Diet coke is 0.5 Kcal.

But on the side it said for 330ml (the whole can) there’s only 1 calorie.

That doesn't make sense, 3.3x0.5 is not 1. It’s basic maths. It’s 1.65. Which is nearer to 2. Has anyone else noticed this or has the whole Diet Coke customer base been deceived?

Also, I felt really proud of myself today, when two deaf people came into the store asking me to call the RAC because they got a flat tyre in our car park. So I rang them but the RAC wanted to know some details from the customer, so I managed to get the customer to write their answers, while I write the questions. Everything worked out great and they were really happy with my service and were full of praise.

This is the conversation we had.

But from there on it went down hill. They waited about 2 hour for the RAC. At which point I talked to my supervisor and he told me that the RAC had called and asked to talk to the customer thinking they were a member of staff. But my supervisor said no there is nobody by that name that works here. So in effect he had cancelled the RAC. So we had to call the RAC back and get them to come out. Then the guy that turned up brought the wrong truck. So they had to wait again for a tow truck. But when the tow truck turned up they were nowhere to be seen. We couldn’t put a tannoy out because they were deaf, so we searched the whole store for them with no joy. So the tow truck driver got pissed off and drove off. Of course half an hour later the customer is back. It took a further hour to get the tow truck to come back. So just for a flat tyre, that would have taken 30 minute tops to replace with the spare, it took about 4 hours at least.

Buses

As the Alanis Morrisette song ‘Ironic’ goes, ‘Why is there a traffic jam, when you’re already late’? I wasn’t that late only a couple of minutes which would have gotten me in about 5 minutes before my shift started. It wasn’t that traffic was too heavy. It wasn’t any worse than any normal Wednesday.

But, and here’s another one of those rhetorical type questions, ‘Why do three buses come along at once’? I was stuck behind a bus going up a hill. Then I got to a T-junction and another buses let him out. Then 3-4 cars went by before another bus came along before it was clear for me to pull out. I was thinking ‘What are the fucking chances’. It’s rare for me to see one bus, but three in a row. Anyway I drive up the road a little and the second two buses were turning right across rush hour traffic. So that held me up even more.

Also, why do I always get behind the village/ town or city idiot? You know the type. The one who drives at 5-10 mph under the speed limit. The ones who think rush hour is like a Sunday afternoon drive in the country. It’s called RUSH HOUR for a reason.

Add to that I get road rage easily after a while of putting up with it and who can blame me. Anyway I managed to get to work with one minute to spare.

Oh you will be glad to hear, I parked away form the front of the store. I still parked in the bottom car park but at the back. No-one has complained…yet.

I was on returns tonight. It was power tool night. The night in which every customer in a ten mile radius, that has a faulty power tool comes in for a refund. We have nights like that every now and again. Just when you think the coast is clear, along comes another.

Oh, also I was stand in supervisor for 15 minutes while the supervisor was on break. The place didn’t fall apart and I managed to arrange the staff with no fuss. Which is pretty good.

Also I tried a new look with my eye make-up and I swear more men looked at me as they came in the door. It’s just darker and smokier than usual. That’s all.

Parking

I was meant to post this last night.
Today started on a high, I was dog sitting my uncles dog George Washington. Which is great because it give Poppy someone to play with. He’s extremely obedient and is so adorable, so when my uncle asked if I could look after him during the day for a week, I jumped at the chance.

But then off to work, where we are having a re-vamp. So because of which they have closed off half the car park. I parked in my usual place, adjacent to the store. I have parked there for as long as I have been driving if the space is available. Now because of the re-vamp, we have been asked to park in the top car park.

So when I walked in, I was greeted by my supervisor and a manager. They asked where I parked, I said ‘Out the front of the store’. They asked ‘why’ and I said ‘because it a car park’. I didn’t mention I was running late, so thought parking closer to the store would save me time. There are a few other reasons.

One being, parking out the front of the store means I am closer to the security cameras. Forgive me for wanting to feel more secure.

Two being, if my knee or hip gives out during my shift, then I don’t want to walk miles to my car.
And three, I work the graveyard shift. Which in itself has its reasons. On the graveyard shift the car park is never full. So I feel I can park there without causing any disruption to the customers who come in.

The second being, on the graveyard shift, especially during the winter, it is dark outside and at the moment they don’t have sufficient lighting. I not scared and I can stick up for myself but excuse me if I feel safer where it is well lit. Especially with a pregnant woman being attacked in Hedge End only last week (I believe).

I understand we need to keep the customers happy. But I am not causing an obstruction, as far as I can see. Plus there are a lot of reasons I can mention for me parking where I have for over 2 years. And only one I can think of to make me park in the top car park, that being for the benefit of the customer.

Oh, did I mention about 90% of the staff park close to the store. You’re only got to look at the car park after closing to see that one or two park in the top car park.
Plus I drive a car and it’s a car park, so I should be able to park anywhere.

So from now and until the re-vamp is complete I will still park in front of the store but either down the side or at the back.

I think that’s it. That’s my rant for today.

On a good note I was on returns.

OMG! It pays to pre-order

Oh yeah!

I pre-ordered Avenged Sevenfold's new CD/DVD about two months ago and I have been counting down the days. With one day until the international release and 7 days until it was meant to come from the place I pre-ordered it from, it has arrived.

That's right it came early.

I watched it straight away and it was definitely worth the two month wait.

Here's a picture of me with the CD/DVD
