A bit of excitement

I haven’t been up to much lately. Just a little bit of excitement to report. Yesterday as I was driving into work. I rounded to corner into the car park, turned the corner to drive adjacent to the building and I had to stop and do a U-turn because there was three police cars blocking the road. So I drove right round the car park and walked into the building as I passed the police cars I could see they had two lads in the back of the cars and a video camera pointing at one of them. I did my usual routine of clocking in and putting on my apron. I went to spend a penny but the staff toilets were out of order because what I later found out was that they were leaking and starting to leak into the warehouse. So off to the customer toilets. Downstairs I asked everyone what happened, but nobody knew. I over heard the managers talking about the lads holding up so other store with a pistol, them driving off to B&Q, police in pursuit. They pulled into the first bay in the car park and ran into the store, hiding out in the back office but the police found them and they were arrested. Apparently there was press hanging around outside and we were all asked not to talked to them if they came in. The managers said if anyone asks any questions, just say no comment, the only problem is customers were asking questions. How can you dull down three police cars, two prisoners and a video camera? God that sound like a film title or something. So more criminals off the streets thanks to B&Q.
On a lighter note, the refurbishment of B&Q Hedge End has finally begun. We had some contractors in to prepare the store. It’s about time, we have been talking about the refurbishment for at least 3-4 years, but it kept being put back. But it’s finally here.
Bad luck to Blake Aldridge, the British Olympic Diver of B&Q Nursling, who came eighth out of eight in the 10metres synchronized dive with Tom Daley. They were robbed. I thought they did just as well as the others but the judges marked them too low. Tom has his solo dives to do but that’s it for Blake.
I’m rather sad at the moment as my uncle is moving up to London. I hardly see him as it is but now he’s moving 1½-2 hours up the road. We have been invited up to see the place when he gets settled in. and we will make a day of it, going around London and looking at landmarks and doing a little shopping. We did go out on Sunday for a farewell meal, we had a lovely meal and we had a laugh but in the back of my head I was still thinking that I not going to see him for ages, probably not until Christmas.
