Winter is here.
Well winter is definately here.
It hasn't got above 2degrees all day.
The forcast is for sleet. So early into winter.
Everyone else (except the south/south west) in the country has had snow already.
Time to break out the winter clothes and wrap up warm.
I LOVE WINTER

Breakup again
My brother and his fiance have broken up again. It sucks seeing my brother so broken hearted. It's all over nothing. She took him to her sisters where he could get drunk. They know he's not a good drunk. They had an arguement and he picks up his daughter and goes back downstair to his flat. He texts her to remind her to bring down the pushchair. I think she took it the wrong way. I think she thought that my brother was going to take his daughter. So she told him to pack his bags. Now he's home again, eating everything in sight.
She is being a real bitch now, saying that he can't every see his own daughter because she think he's gonna do a runner with her. She obviously doesn't know him because he would never do that.
I hope she changes her mind and lets my brother see her.

Ok so I think it's time to maybe try and get in shape before the ski season starts up again. Or at least loose a bit of weight as I feel like a beached whale. And my double chin is back. So I am going to keep a track of my weight and post how much I weight on here.
Started by doing a half hour of cardio a day and hopefully build that up as time goes on. But here's a question. How do you loose a lot of weight when running is pretty much a no factor because of old injuries?
Also gotta add in some weights to maintain my muscles. Yes I know I'm a butch bitch.
So wish me luck on losing weight with... A busted knee, two busted wrists, and a busted shoulder.
And a terrible addiction to chocolate.

Grumble
How can I. Being just a C/A. Have more balls than a high ranking manager?
Seriously. If you're management then you should not give a shit if you upset a customer. Stand by your staff.
We got a new store manager a month or so ago. He has never introduces himself to the evening and weekend staff. But he has the nerve to change everything we stand for.
We are strict on procedure and he wants to let things slide.
We got a new returns policy back in february that states that any customer without a receipt will not get a refund. Not with him. He wants us to take stuff back if the customers is buying something else.
I'm pretty sure that we as a company did not spent thousands if not millions on lawyers to make a returns policy that is legal and above board, for some jumped up twat with a little bit of power to change that.
There are so many more things I can grumble about but my lunch is over and I have to get back to the shop floor to deal with some more patronising customers.
Let me just say I cannot wait until it's time to fill in the feedback questionnaire for this year.

Was that who I think it was?
So there I am in the clothes department of a supermarket, I come to a cross roads. I look up and there's a man walking across my path. I think I recognise him and I keep walking straight. It took a couple of seconds to process just who he could be. Now I haven't seen him in person in about 20 years and have only seen him in photos. So it might not have been. But if it was who I think it was. Well then he was....
MY DAD
I have no idea if he recognised me. I didn't see anyone else with him. But strangely after I got a friends request on Facebook from a member of his family.
Still a little freaked out and keep
asking myself was it or wasn't it....

A little freaked out
Driving down the road...
Friend: hey, your cars pretty unique huh.
Me: yeah, you never see more than 2 in one place.
Pull up to the traffic lights and there's my car in front. Look to the left and there's my car again.
A little freaked out. There are only 3 of my car in the city that I know about. What are the chances that all 3 are on the same road at the same time.

Number 28
28. Your year, in detail.
Okay we are only 6 months into 2010, but this is the major things that have happened so far. The year kind of started off on a bad foot. At work on January 1st 2010 we entered the building to find we were broken into. Strangely the robbers broke in through the roof. But even stranger, they knew exactly where a couch was for a soft landing. Now to do that they had to know the distance from the wall, so everybody thought it was an inside job but it turns out they gained access through a security door after a member of staff walked through. They got away with £32,000 worth of power tools and showers. Fuckers. There go our bonuses for the next year.
Then we had the snow. The whole of England was completely covered in the white stuff. I love snow. So to wake up and find the ground was completely white was awesome. I had to drive in the snow for the first time and coped pretty well.
Of course, then my brother was sent to prison, he was sent to a youth offender prison quite a long way down the coast. He was charged with ABH. Sent to prison for 18 months. I visited him a couple of times. Had to be frisked and sniffed by a dog every time I did. All we were aloud to carry into the visitor centre was our locker key and £5 cash. It was quite upsetting seeing him in there. I missed him a lot more than I thought I would. He’s out now and on tag. He has to be in by 7pm every night and has to stay in until 7am. I think he has learnt his lesson and is completely changed. He’s a lot calmer and not so angry. He helps out a lot more around the house without being asked. So I think he is reformed.
I then found out that someone I have had feeling for, for a long time, has feeling for me too. He used to work with me and I only found out through talking to him online that he feels the same way. It completely shocked me to hear some of the things he wanted to say to me for years. It’s a bit hard now, knowing hoe he feels and having to work with his girlfriend.
Next came the new neighbours. We had a bit of trouble with the previous neighbours but I was really sad to see them go. The dad of the family was pretty hot. They started arguing and spilt up. He moved out first and then she did a house swap. So we found out a little bit about the new family. We knew she was a single parent with 11 year old twins. We were really dreading having kids move in but were totally shocked when they did. She is ok. Now and again the kids are in the garden jumping on a trampoline, which we hate. And I have had to throw back a lot of balls. Apart from that, they are really quiet and rarely in. In a way they are quite odd. They disappear for days at a time and the kids seem to take quite a lot of time off school.
Then came a kind of promotion. I am now trained in cashing up at the end of an evening at work. I can’t tell you much more than that as it’s all confidential.
Then came Grandad’s operation. He had, I believe, a distended aorta. He had an operation to repair it. I visited him in hospital a couple of times. I have never seen him so vulnerable. It really upset me to see the man I have always looked up to so weak. But I had to remain strong. Not just for him. But for my Nan, my Mum and for myself. I was my Nan’s chauffeur while he was in hospital and helped in any way I could.
Then came a really awesome night. I went to see the Lostprophets live at Southampton Guild Hall. I had to queue around the block to get in. once in I bought a shirt. Then came to first support band. They were The Sharks. They were really hard to listen to. I had listened to some of there stuff to prepare for the gig. But on the night the guitarists and drummer over powered the vocalist. The vocalist was way to close to the mike so it sounded really muffled. The second support band on was Kids In Glass House. I also listened to some of there stuff before the gig. They were much better than The Sharks They really got the crowd going ready for Lostprophets. The Lostprophets were awesome. I have loved them for years. I rocked out quite hard, singing along to every song. To top the night off, I went to the gig with the person who has feelings for me. It was great to spend time with him away from everyone we know. Only two things pissed me off. One was a blonde bimbo woman who didn’t move, obviously didn’t know any of the songs and really looked as if she didn’t want to be there. Second was that I had to get up at 5am to go to work, so I couldn’t go to the aftershow party with Ian Watkins Djing.
Next came Bulgaria. Me and mum went to Bulgaria to ski. The flight out was different. We weren’t sat together. Mum was a seat a row ahead and across the aisle. I forgot to carry my i-pod onto the plane. So there I was sat next to two boys about 18 years old, bored out of my brain. After an hour and a half bus transfer, we arrived at the hotel, The Bor/Edleweiss. The next morning we got up early for breakfast. Off to meet our rep to get all our passes. Then up to get our equipment. I had such trouble trying to find boots to fit. Then off to meet Krassimir Todorov, our instructor. Then began our lesson. They beginning of the week started with approximately 11 people, by the end we were only 7 people. People came and went. Our group ended up me and mum, Gracey and Hayden., David and Melissa and Danny. We learnt to do ski aerobics, ski forward, many different turns and to ski backwards. We used button lifts, 4man lifts, a travelator and the gondola. We had a lot of fun. That was until mum had an accident. We were stepping off the travelator and mum slipped on some ice. She really land hard on her back. That saw the end to her skiing for this year. She was lead in hospital for about a day. She refused to go to the medical centre. Luckily she injured herself 2 days before we left, so she enjoyed most of the holiday. On one of the nights, we all went for a meal with the instructor. It was a really awesome night with some really awesome, traditional Bulgarian dishes. We played drinking games, even though I don’t drink. So easy for me to win when everyone else was drunk. All in all, it was a really great holiday. So great that we are going again next year.
Then I turned 23, yep, getting old.
With the getting older, I thought, it’s finally time to grow up. My room went through a complete change. I finally took down all the posters. I painted the walls in cream and purple. I put in a black carpet. It looks really grown up. I have a piece of my art creation on the wall. I open my curtains everyday and make my bed everyday with scatter cushions. I also decided to update my appearance. No longer just black all the time. I now chuck in a splash of colour. Changes are slow, but definitely happening.
Next I finally got a new phone. I now have an i-phone, which means I am updating my twitter, facebook, myspace and blog more often. Also another part of growing up, I am now on contract instead of pay as you go.
Next came the shocking news that my Nan was pick pocketed while in Amsterdam. It really upset her and even a couple of weeks later, while telling us her story, she was getting upset. It really made me upset to hear it. But the help of her fellow passenger really made me well up. They came together and done a whip round for her, so she had some money for the rest of the trip. English really do come together in a crisis.
Then came the General Election. I voted Liberal Democrats and Nick Clegg, mainly because they were the underdogs. But it ended up being a hung parliament. Now Nick Clegg with the Liberal Democrats and David Cameron with the Conservatives have joined forces with David Cameron as Prime Minister. I didn’t really care who was Prime Minister as long as it wasn’t a Labour candidate.
Next came about a week ago. My Grandad had an accident. He fell 10 feet off a ladder. He has broken his heal. Not a good bone to break. Luckily my Nan and there neighbours managed to slightly catch him or it could have been a lot worse. He had an operator to pin the break a couple of days ago. All went well. He got out of hospital yesterday and is recovering at home. He cannot put his foot down for 6 weeks. So no driving. The car is too big for my Nan to drive, so they are trading it in for something smaller. I am definitely here, should they need me.
Next, the world cup has started. I, of course am backing England. I have already written about their matches. So I wont bore you. I have made a bet with my brother. If England doesn’t make it out of the group stages, I have to buy lunch. If they do, then he buys lunch. Either way my Mum gets a free meal. I England get kicked out, then I said I was backing Australia, but they may not make it either, especially after there first match against Germany, losing 4-0. Anyway, COME ON ENGLAND.
I am writing this early on Tuesday 15th June. Kirsty, My sister has gone into labour a couple of hours ago. I am sat by the phone waiting for the call to run my brother to the hospital. Going to be a long night. On the other hand, my other sister Kiki has left for South Korea today. She is going to be there for 3 months minimum. Can’t wait to hear about her adventures.
It's over a week on from when I wrote this, because I knew that I wouldn't have time to write this today.
So now I am an aunty. Kirsty was in slow labour for 7 days. Lexi was finally born yesterday (22/06/2010) at 15:15. She weighed 7lbs 14oz. I got to meet her today. I even held her. Yes I know I dislike children but for Lexi I will make an exception. She is soo cute and soo tiny. I will probably write about her a lot.
That’s my year so far. The beginning of this year has been a lot more eventful then last year. Lets hope it continues.

27. Your Month, in detail.
June hhmmm. To start my month started pretty bad. My grandad fell ten foot off a ladder and broke his heel. he's ok now. he has pins and plates. He now has a zimmer frame which we keep taking the mickey out of him for. He cannot use crutches because the doctor said he was too dangerous. But he's on the mend and thats what matters.
The world cup has started and I am completely in the spirit, even if so far my team hasn't. I ofcourse am supporting ENGLAND. They haven't played too well so far but things are going to change tomorrow. We have to win the stay up, or we are out.
and, finally. 10 minutes ago I was informed that I am an aunty. Yep, my sister has finally given birth after 7 days in slow labour. Once she got going it went really quickly. I can't wait to meet her.
Apart from that I have had a really quiet month. Nice and laid back. Even better when the sun is shining as it is today.

26. Your week in great detail.
Well I have had a quiet week. This time last week we were waiting for my grandad's surgery and now he's at home recovering with pins, plates and screws in his foot. Then my stepsister went into labour. She is now in slow labour and has been for 6 days. My other sister has gone to Korea for 3 months, studying in a university out there. I worked as usual and played as usual. A really really really quiet week.

25. Your day, in great detail.
well, my day started at 8:30am. I had breakfast of a bowl of honey nut cornflakes with a cup of tea. I lazed about the house for a while listening to some music. I had lunch of my mums delicious home-made shepherd's pie with carrots, cabbage and leaks covering in gravy. For dessert, we had a slice of coconut cake. I helped with the washing up. Put on my make-up and straightened my hair. I put on a pair of black jeans and a blue top. We drove to pick up my brother from his girlfriends. We drove to Asda to get my grand-parents some groceries. Over to my grand-parent where we sat in the garden drinking coffee and wishing my grandad a happy father's day. Inside to have a spot of dinner. We had finger sandwiches. Dessert of my nan's delicious home-made trifle with cream. Then we went for a walk to the edge of the new forest. My uncle and his dog Georgie came too. Walking past millionaire houses and lots of green land on a beautifully sunny day, Perfect. Drove to pick up my brother's girlfriend, who is in slow labour and terrified to be on her own. Then home before 19:15 for my brother curfew. Then a night in front of the TV. We watched You've Been Framed, Bean: The Movie and now I am currently watching The Bodyguard singing along to Whitney Houston tracks.
Not a very busy day but definitely worthwhile. Spending time with my family is one of my favourite things to do.

24. Whatever takes you fancy.
Well yesterday the England team played against Algeria. Not a very good performance was it. I was at work for mist of the match. I got home as the match went into extra time. But this morning I did watch a re-run of the first half. Algeria looked like they were all over us. Wayne Rooney looked like he didn't give a shit. Passing was sloppy. I am starting to loose faith I'm Fabio Gapello. He's not managing the te very well and doesn't really understand where the players are best. I think it may be time for new management. Maybe someone English so the ayers cam understand what they are meant to do. That's it rant over. We have to win the next match to go through to the 16. COME ON ENGLAND.

21. A recipe.
We never really used recipes while I was growing up. That was until we went to Katelios, Kefalonia. We loved a dish out there called Moussaka. So as soon as we got back, we found a recipe. Now we use recipes all the time. Whenever we get bored with food or see an advert on the tv, we dig up a new recipe.
So heres the recipe we use for Moussaka.
Ingredients:
1kg of aubergines, trimmed and cut into 5mm thick slices
5tbsp of olive oil
450g of onions, finely sliced
700g of lamb mince
400g can of chopped tomatoes
200g of greek yoghurt
1 large egg
50g of grated cheese
75g of feta cheese, roughly crumbled
1. Preheat the oven to 200c. Put the aubergine slices on four baking sheets. Brush each side with a little oil, season. Roast for 35-40 min, turn halfway through.
2. Meanwhile, heat the rest of the oil in a pan. Add onions and cook over a low heat for 10 mins or until soft. Tip into a bowl.
3. Put the mince into the pan and brown over a high heat. Return the onions to the pan. Add the chopped tomatoes. Bring to the boil and season. Simmer for 20 mins.
4. To make the topping, put the yoghurt, egg and half the grated cheese in a bowl, season. Mix together until combined.
5. Put half the mince into an over proof dish. Add half the aubergine, overlapping the slices where necessary. Season well and repeat layers.
6. Top with feta, pour yoghurt mixture over and sprinkle with remaining grated cheese. Cook in oven for 35-40 mins. Serve.

Like most people, at the moment I am into The World Cup. I obviously support one of the best teams in the world...England.
We had our first match yesterday against USA. We got off to a fantastic start. Steven Gerard our captain, scoring within the first 4 minutes. It was going pretty well for a while, that was until a little mishap. Rob Green, our goal keeper, made a howler of a mistake by letting the ball slip through his fingers. The finally score England 1-1 USA.
My favourite player at the moment on the England team has to be....
Frank Lampard

15. A fanfic.
I don't follow fanfics. Sorry but I don't see why people would waste time on writing a piece of fanfiction. I understand that people have fantasies about their favorite things but they could spend that energy writing something worthwhile. Using that imagination to write a book or story that could possibly take over the world.
That's it for today.
Wrote a lot more than I thought I would about fanfics.

13. A fiction Book.
It's rather fitting that the day this subject comes up, I finish reading Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol.
It's a good book but wasn't as gripping as The Da Vinci Code. It rambles on at points and it seems to repeat certain subjects more than once. But a must read, most definately if , like me, you have read his other books.

What the hell do I write?
I guess I can tell you how excited I am at becoming an aunty. I'm kinda an aunty already to my brother's girlfriends daughter. But now I am going to actually, linked by blood, be an aunty. My brother and his girlfriend are due in about 3 weeks but it could be any day really. They are having a girl. I don't really get along with kids who are not disaplined proberly. But I am really looking forward to baby sitting.
So there we go I've written something, which is more than I can say for my friend, although she does have 55 minutes left.

5. Your favourite quote.
Not so easy. I don't take notice of quotes. I guess 'live life to the full' is a good one.
Trying to think of quotes I use all the time. The only one that comes to mind is, 'you can always take it back'. As a senior returns advisor, I always say it to my mum when we are shopping, if she's undecided about whether or not she should buy an item.
I did used to say it to customers aswell but now I have to say the longer version. 'you can always bring it back as long as you keep your receipt and it's within 45 days'. I love saying no to customers but when they think I'm an idiot and ask to see a manager, it really pisses me off.

4. Your Favourite Book.
My favourite book is by my favourite author Christopher Gutierrez. He's not a well known author but I have all his books. I think my favourite book that he has written was called A Life Deliberate.
He's an awesome writer, his books are about his life and the situations he has been through in his life. He took me on a whirlwind of emotions. Crying at some stories and laughing at others. Some that everyone has been through and some that can only happen to Chris. He will be releasing a new book soon and I cannot wait to read it.

3. Your favourite television program.
Well that's quite an easy one. The only program that I cannot miss is an aussi soap called Home and Away. It's about the residence of Summer Bay. I have watches it ever since I was about 7 years old. Because my mum is really into the show too, she got me into it young. I love the character and story lines. There are some very hunky men and some not so bad women with awesome scenery. It really gets me in touch with my Australian side.
Although I must say that without CSI, tv would be boring. If there is nothing on tv, you can always find an episode of CSI on somewhere. I did love CSI Las Vegas the most but since Grisham left it hasn't been the same. Don't get me wrong I love Lawrence Fishborne but now my favourite has to be CSI New York. CSI Miami is alright but Kane gets on my nerves with all his little catchphrases. The others seem to be more about the team as a whole, whereas Miami seems more about Kane and how many close shots in his sunglasses they can get of him.
Keeping it going so far, but wouldn't be possible at the moment without I-phone. So sorry for any spelling errors.
They sent a couple of astronauts and a demolitions expert called John Redding up to the moon to set off an explosion that will hopefully close in the sides of the moon and let the moon repair itself. But when he hears of Irving Blitzer is living in Jamaica, Derice decides to go to the Games anyway. If not as a sprinter, then as a bobsledder. After some starting problems, the first Jamaican bobsledding team is formed and heads for Calgary. In the freezing weather Derice, Sanka, Junior and Yul are only laughed at, as nobody can take a Jamaican bobsledding team led by a disgraced trainer seriously. But team spirit and a healthy self confidence may lead to a few surprises in the upcoming Winter Games. I love this movie. It's full of team spirit and striving to be the best. A must see.
