It's about a group of oceanographic research scientists called Abyss are sent to the site of a mysterious island implosion. They must try to avert an worldwide ecological disaster but discover more then they thought. One of the team called Pete travels down to the site of a huge crack in the earth at the site of the island implosion. He Disappears and the team fear he is dead. But he later returns but there is something not quite right about him.
